MONTREAL, QUEBEC—(Marketwire - 14 juillet, 2008) - Bombardier Aéronautique a annoncé aujourd’hui la nomination de Frederick W. Reid à titre de nouveau président de Flexjet et Skyjet É.-U. Cette nomination entrera en vigueur le 25 août 2008. M. Reid fera bénéficier Bombardier de son expertise en tant que gestionnaire chevronné dans le marketing et les aspects commerciaux du transport aérien.
La carrière de M. Reid au sein de l’industrie aérienne est impressionnante et s’étend sur une période de 20 ans pendant lesquelles il a occupé des postes de cadre supérieur auprès de plusieurs sociétés aériennes. His career began in 1976, when he joined Pan American World Airways, his responsibilities consisting primarily in opening new markets such as Europe, the Middle East, India and Asia. In 1987, Mr. Reid joined the American Airline Corporation, responsible for European Sales and Marketing, based in London, England. For the next eight years, he held several positions of increasing responsibility within Lufthansa, and was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer in 1996, a position he held until his departure in 1998 to join Delta Airlines. Three years later, Mr. Reid was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Delta Airlines, responsible for revenue of $14 billion in an organization of 60,000 employees and 967 aircraft operating in 31 countries. His most recent challenge consisted in the launch of Virgin America, in his capacity as Chief Executive Officer. Virgin America was just awarded "Best Domestic US Airline" by the prestigious Travel and Leisure Annual Awards.
Mr. Reid succeeds Michael McQuay, who has continued to lead Flexjet and Skyjet U.S. operations while accepting additional responsibilities as President, Aircraft Service Centres, more than a year ago.
